Well at last Citrix have brought out the Citrix Optimizer, a simple to use PowerShell script with a GUI to help us Citrix administrators optimise components in our environment. Extremely handy for operating system optimisation with the Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA).
Citrix Optimizer can run in three different modes:
- Analyze – analyze the current system against a specified template and display any differences
- Execute – apply the optimizations from the template
- Rollback (available in PowerShell mode only) – revert the optimization changes applied previously
Rollback is not supported for application removal, you will need to use snapshots to recover removed applications.
Being PowerShell based requires PowerShell (funny that!) v2.0 or higher and .NET 4.5.2 or higher.
The Citrix Optimizer can be downloaded from the Citrix website, you will need as usual to login to get access to the download.
